P. MARK SMITH

EXECUTIVE CHAIRMAN

Mr. Smith has more than 40 years of experience in the industry with expertise ranging from exploration, mining, research, advising, and arranging financings. Mr. Smith started his career as a geologist in the mining and exploration industry and throughout his career became a Senior Mining Analyst and later a Managing Director Investment Banker. He spent 20 years working for several mining companies including Cominco, and the Mineral Deposits Section of the Ontario Geological Survey before transitioning into the brokerage industry in 1997. For the next 11 years he worked as a mining analyst with Marleau-Lemire, C.M. Oliver, First Associates, and Dundee Securities, specializing in gold. Over the next decade Mr. Smith was an Investment Banker with Dundee Securities, Stifel Nicolas, and M Partners where he provided financial, technical, marketing, general corporate, and strategic advice as well as arranged financing for private and public companies in the mining and exploration sector. From the mid 1990’s Mr. Smith served on the PDAC technical committee responsible for the highly successful PDAC convention in Toronto, Canada. In 2001 and 2002 he was Chairman of the convention, and remained as a Director of the PDAC until 2005. Mr. Smith has B. Sc. and M. Sc. degrees in Earth Science from the University of Waterloo.

ALAN CARTER

PRESIDENT, CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER & DIRECTOR

Dr. Carter was a co-founder of both Peregrine Metals Ltd. and Cuprum Resources Ltd., which were sold to Stillwater Mining and B&A Mineracao respectively, and is currently a director and Chairman of Altamira Gold Corp. He has a B.Sc. degree in Geology from the University of Nottingham, U.K. and a Ph.D. degree in gold geochemistry and structural geology from the University of Southampton, U.K.  Dr. Carter has been directly involved in the discovery of 5 gold deposits, including 4 in Brazil, and was a co-founder of Magellan Minerals Inc. which was acquired by Anfield Gold Corp. in May 2016 and is now part of Equinox Gold. He founded Cabral Gold in late 2016 and took the Company public in November 2017.

IAN GENDALL

DIRECTOR

Ian Gendall is the President & CEO of DLP Resources and was previously with Gencor, Billiton, Anglo American, Antofagasta and more recently OceanaGold. Whilst working with Billiton, Ian led the team that was responsible for the discovery of an entirely new porphyry copper district in southern Ecuador. One of the companies that acquired part of the district was subsequently sold to CRCC-Tongguan Investment Co., Ltd. for $679M. He has extensive knowledge of operating in Brazil and in particular the Tapajos region and was previously COO of Magellan Minerals.

JON GILLIGAN

DIRECTOR

Jon Gilligan has 35 years experience and a PhD in Geology (gold). He is currently the COO of Liberty Gold and previously held senior positions with Torex Gold, SSR Mining Inc., and BHP. Jon has extensive experience in advancing and building mines around the world including the Marigold open-pit heap leach operation, Nevada, USA; Chinchillas open pit mine, Argentina; Olympic Dam Expansion Project, South Australia and the Escondida and Escondida Norte mines in Chile. He was previously Manager Mine Operations at the giant Escondida copper mine in Chile. Jon has a proven track record of building high-performance exploration, development and operational mining teams in challenging environments.

LARRY LEPARD

DIRECTOR

Larry Lepard is Managing Partner at Equity Management Associates, an investment fund focused on the precious metals sector and which has over US$60M under management. Larry previously spent 25 years as a professional investor and venture capitalist with Geocapital and Summit Partners, and has an MBA with Academic Distinction from Harvard Business School and a BA in Economics from Colgate University.

SAMI ARAP SOBRINHO

DIRECTOR

Sami Arap Sobrinho is the founding member and senior partner of Arap, Nishi & Uyeda Advogados, a boutique law firm based in São Paulo, with expertise in mining, infrastructure project development and finance, foreign investments, corporate and M&A, tax planning and real estate properties.

He has previously acted as General Counsel of Brasil Telecom S.A. (2002-2005), Enron South America (1999-2002) and Odebrecht Construction Co. (1996-1999). Sami advises several investors in the mining sector in Brazil and abroad. He holds an LL.B. degree from the Catholic University of São Paulo – School of Law (1987) and a Master of Comparative Jurisprudence degree from New York University – School of Law (1991).
